Job Description

Job Summary:

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a highly skilled Capital Works Manager to lead the delivery of asset management works planning across the Council's operational property portfolio. As a key member of the Strategic Asset Planning team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a planned and prioritized works programme to improve property performance and lifespan, while minimizing Health & Safety risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 4 in the analysis of asset condition surveys to develop a planned and prioritized works programme.
  • Financially monitor and report on programme spend, ensuring that appropriate procurement routes are followed.
  • Contribute to the Council's wider strategic property planning needs, including supporting the delivery of the Corporate Property Strategy.
  • Play a lead role in driving the energy retrofit agenda, supporting the wider decarbonization of the Council's estate.

Requirements:

  • Experience in asset management and property planning.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from various disciplines.
