About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Natural Capital & Environmental Net Gain team as a Principal or Associate Natural Capital Consultant. This role will be based in Croydon, Edinburgh, or London, with the option to work remotely or in a hybrid environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, manage, and deliver projects, working closely with clients to understand their needs and develop effective solutions.
  • Conduct research and analysis, combining desk studies with quantitative and qualitative data to inform project decisions.
  • Prioritize tasks, meet commitments, and take ownership of project delivery, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Lead and participate in project team meetings, client meetings, and internal discussions to drive project success.
  • Contribute to business development by developing client relationships, writing proposals, and marketing our services.
  • Provide analytical support and advice to the team, promoting best practice and innovation in environmental and sustainability outcomes.

About the Team

The Natural Capital and Environmental Net Gain team is a small, multi-disciplinary group that includes environmental economists, consultants, and experts in forestry and soils. We work closely with other teams across AECOM, including Carbon & Advisory, Digital Environment, and international teams.

Recent and Ongoing Projects

  • Developing catchment natural capital accounts for a water company.
  • Creating site-based natural capital accounts and analyzing investment scenarios to deliver best value for money.
  • Providing advice and analysis for land-based carbon opportunities to meet business net zero commitments.
  • Developing frameworks for integrating environmental and community impacts into economic appraisals of electricity transmission options.
  • Working with our digital team to develop a rapid natural capital assessment tool.
  • Developing a route map for green finance opportunities for a public sector organization.
