We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic oceanographer to join our team at ECO Magazine in a new Research Scientist position in marine biogeochemistry and physical oceanography. This role will involve investigating the impact of ocean circulation variability on air-sea CO2 fluxes and carbon accumulation in the North Atlantic.
As a member of our Ocean Biogeosciences group, you will work closely with colleagues in Marine Physics and Ocean Climate, and Marine Systems Modelling groups, as well as partners across the UK and US. Your expertise in data analysis, Matlab, Python, and good quantitative competencies will be essential in this role.
About YouYou will have a PhD or equivalent in oceanography or a related quantitative field, with a strong understanding of ocean biogeochemistry, ocean circulation, and climate research. If you are passionate about advancing our knowledge of the ocean and its role in the Earth's climate system, we encourage you to apply.
We offer a generous set of benefits, including 28 days annual leave, plus 3.5 local closure days and 8 public bank holidays, and a contributory Group Personal Pension Plan. We also have a hybrid working approach, allowing staff to work from home up to 2 days per week.
We welcome applications from overseas candidates who are willing to relocate to the UK. We may be able to offer financial support with relocation.
