These professionals also play a vital role in emergency protocols, including responding to fire alarms and assisting security personnel. At Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, we seek dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who are committed to delivering exceptional service around the clock.
Key Responsibilities
The safe transportation of individuals and items, which includes (but is not limited to):
- Patients (including infants, children, and adults)
- Deceased individuals
- Correspondence
- Medical Records
- Pharmaceutical supplies
- Blood units and pathology samples
- Sterile materials
- Meals for patients
- General waste
- Confidential documents
- Clinical and cytotoxic waste
- Linen
- Office furniture and equipment
- Ensure all patient equipment is safe and functioning properly
- Respond to all emergency calls to assist the medical team
- Act as a deputy for Shift Leaders when required
- Perform non-routine transport tasks such as moving office furniture and equipment
- Replenish medical gas supplies, including connecting to medical gas systems when necessary
- Transfer deceased patients from clinical areas to the mortuary, ensuring all documentation is completed
- Provide assistance to security staff as needed
