About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Transport Assistant to join our team at Secure Care UK. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing safe and respectful transportation services to patients in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport patients to and from various locations, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients during transportation, promoting a calm and comfortable environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and transportation.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care and transportation.
Requirements
  • Valid Full UK Manual Driving License with minimum 12 months driving experience.
  • Maintain Enhanced DBS.
  • Excellent communication skills, including IT ability.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure while delivering genuine care.
  • Demonstrate resilience.
  • Able to work as part of a team effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Contract Details

Fulltime (average of 40.3 hours per week, worked on a 4 on 4 off rolling shift pattern, alternating between days and nights. Usual working hours are 6:30am-7:30pm and 7pm-7am) or flexible (no guaranteed hours, pick which shifts you work, usual working hours of 6:30am-7:30pm and 7pm-7am).

Please note that due to the nature of the business and client requirements, we reserve the right to change the working times with a reasonable notice.

This contract is paid at a blended rate of £12.37p/h (Day, Night and Weekend Shifts). Annual Remuneration to start from £26,593.80, based on expected hours. This is to be discussed during the interview process.

Plus enhanced pay of £1.20 extra per hour for work at a Mental Health 'place of safety' and for bed watch activities, supporting ward staff.
