The Croydon Council Placemaking Team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to coordinate the Croydon Urban Room project. This exciting opportunity will enable you to work with a multidisciplinary team of built environment practitioners to foster meaningful connections between people and place.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and support the Croydon Urban Room project, a physical and digital space for public participation.
  • Develop and deliver public-facing creative and cultural spaces and programmes across a range of scales and audiences.
  • Work with stakeholders to design and deliver high-quality events, exhibitions, and public programmes.
  • Manage and maintain the Urban Room space, ensuring it remains a vibrant and inclusive hub for the community.
  • Collaborate with the Placemaking Team to develop and implement placemaking strategies that promote community engagement and social cohesion.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in public engagement, public programming, event management, and exhibition curation.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of urban design, placemaking, and community engagement principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
