About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Transformation Project Manager to join our team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Transformation Portfolio Management Office, you will play a crucial role in delivering our transformation projects and improving access, quality, outcomes, and experiences for our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Lead and manage a range of Trust-wide projects to ensure plans are robust and sufficiently detailed to provide assurance that delivery will result in service quality improvement/development and efficiency savings.
  • Collaboration and Co-ordination: Work closely with the named Transformation SRO and other Transformation Programme Managers, and the NELFT Transformation Portfolio Management Office (TPMO) to ensure all programmes of work are co-ordinated, complementary, and understand any co-dependencies.
  • Project Initiation and Management: Initiate new projects, including the support and development of effective project documentation and management of projects, including project plans, workbooks, risk and issue logs, and the formation of project steering boards and teams.
  • Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Manage, monitor, report, and track the progress of projects, ensuring that the intended benefits are achieved with outcomes maximised.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Successfully manage expectations on project deliverables, working alongside key stakeholders to understand and interpret potential constraints/risks to project objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team, ensuring that project work is completed as necessary within agreed timescales.
  • Continuous Improvement: Ensure the project management remains flexible and dynamic and responsive to change at local and national level.
  • Efficiency and Productivity: Identify new opportunities for efficiencies and productivity, leading on plans for the delivery of these projects.
  • Relationship Building: Build constructive and effective relationships with colleagues and staff at all levels, effectively utilising relationships and informal networks to achieve delivery of targets.
  • Communication and Influence: Use persuasive, diplomatic, and motivational skills to break down barriers of misunderstanding, employing a high level of interpersonal and communication skills and striving for a collaborative and early resolution of any highly contentious matters.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

  • Recognised Project management qualification
  • Master's level postgraduate qualification in transformation and improvement
  • Leadership qualification or equivalent senior leadership level experience

Desirable Qualifications

  • Quality Improvement Qualification, QSIR, IHI, LEAN, 6 Sigma

Knowledge and Training

  • Change management training

Experience

  • Significant experience of delivering successful transformation projects
  • Significant proven track record in delivering outcomes within agreed timeframes
  • Significant experience of planning, co-ordinating, delivering, and evaluating workshops/service improvement events/team building/away days
  • Significant experience in managing a team
  • Experienced in supervising and/or line managing junior members of staff
  • Experience in achieving co-production of projects with stakeholders, staff, service users, carers, partner organisations
  • Experience in interpreting policies and national guidelines related to projects
  • Ability to gather, manipulate, analyse, and present data to a variety of audiences with different levels of understanding
  • Experience in leading and working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Significant experience in working across organisational boundaries
  • Awareness of current NHS priorities
  • Compassionate, just, flexible leadership skills with the ability to influence, motivate, inspire, and overcome barriers
