Autism Support Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Autism Support Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Southwark. As a Graduate Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting a student with Autism, helping to build their social confidence and academic engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and prepare materials to inspire individual learning
  • Keep accurate records of pupil observations and feedback to parents
  • Carry out general teaching assistant responsibilities in class as required
  • Work under the supervision of the school SENCo and class teachers
  • Provide effective support to the student, helping to develop their social and academic skills
Person Specification:
  • Hold a Psychology or related degree from a top UK university
  • Experience working with children is desirable but not essential
  • Patient and calming manner with the ability to support others
