Senior Procurement Category Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Procurement Category Manager to join our team at Wakefield Council.
As a key member of our Procurement Team, you will be responsible for providing a professional, customer-focussed service for the procurement of goods, services, and works for the Council.
With a focus on delivering a best-in-class service, you will have the opportunity to develop a category-led approach to procurement, influencing spend, understanding business needs, and developing innovative sourcing opportunities that contribute to a positive legacy within the Council.
You will play an influential part in shaping procurement solutions that deliver value for money and have focused outcomes that help directorates achieve the best possible results for our residents.
As a deputy to the Head of Procurement, you will also be responsible for the efficient and effective operational management, service delivery, and leadership of a small team of procurement professionals.
We are looking for a CIPS-qualified (level 6) professional with a strong record of success in a large multi-disciplinary organisation. You will need to demonstrate strong governance, excellent communication skills, and strong judgement at senior level, as well as being a credible leader.
