Procurement Category Lead

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Category Manager to join our Corporate Procurement team at Wakefield Council.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to lead the procurement category and provide advice, guidance, and manage end-to-end procurement activities. You will play a key role in shaping procurement solutions that deliver value for money and help directorates achieve the best possible results for our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end procurement activity to establish contracts and arrangements
- Ensure a planned, proactive approach is maintained to improve procurement activity within your category of spend
- Provide procurement advice and guidance to key stakeholders and other Council Officers
- Minimum CIPS Level 4 or demonstrable equivalent experience in a procurement/commissioning setting
- Experience in stakeholder management, contract management, and a sound understanding of public sector procurement
