The Role

As the Head of Compliance and Governance, you will oversee the teams responsible for Data Protection, Metering and Billing, and ISO Accreditations and Certifications. You will interpret regulatory, compliance, and quality standards required for TalkTalk Business to operate within and work with business stakeholders to implement required processes and governance to meet obligations.

You will act as a consultant to change products, systems, and processes through a detailed understanding of the changing landscape and the perceived risks and issues that must be mitigated to shape our future.

Responsibilities

  • Quality, Regulations & Risk
    • Interpreting and assessing risks against quality, compliance, and regulatory standards, including Ofcom, Data Protection Act, Privacy Regulations, Advertising Standards Authority rules, and Emergency Database.
    • Conducting horizon scanning to identify potential business impacts.
    • Influencing the deployment of quality and risk principles.
    • Implementing quality management systems, scorecards, and risk frameworks.
    • Maintaining the TalkTalk Business risk register and assessing business continuity plans.
    • Serving as the point of contact for regulatory body requests.
  • People Leadership
    • A visible people leader who promotes inclusion, challenges the status quo, encourages personal development, and empowers team members.
    • Creating a culture that celebrates successes while fostering ownership and responsibility.
  • Driving Performance
    • Taking ownership of own and team performance with clear productivity expectations aligned to the company strategy.
    • Tracking, monitoring, and improving metrics to achieve all agreed KPIs.
    • Proactively managing performance and finding innovative ways to meet objectives.
    • Delivery of high-quality engagement initiatives to support business ambitions/updates.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Developing strong networks within the business and with third-party suppliers to shape the compliance and governance agenda for TalkTalk Business.
    • Collaborating with key business leads to assess impacts and drive change, leveraging knowledge of the organization's core architecture and products.
    • Maintaining regular, tailored communication with stakeholders, delivering consistent and impactful updates.

Skills and Experience We Are Looking For

  • Extensive experience in compliance roles within highly regulated environments.
  • Solid understanding of risk frameworks and advising on best practices.
  • Experience in conducting regulatory gap analysis and policy implementation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in managing complex compliance projects.
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset – embracing challenges and viewing failures as opportunities to learn and improve.

How You Will Work

TalkTalk Business understands the importance of flexibility and connection in the workplace. We have adopted a hybrid approach to working, allowing our full-time team to spend 3 days a week at our HQ in Soapworks, Salford Quays, with the remaining days offering the option to work from home.
