About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Communication Support Worker to join our team at Northampton College. As a Communication Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting Deaf students and those with hearing needs with language communication and comprehension both in and out of classes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide British Sign Language translation and support to Deaf students and those with hearing needs.
  • Check student understanding and facilitate interaction with staff and other students.
  • Work collaboratively with the Deaf & Hearing Needs Practitioner and other team members to deliver excellent support services.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • BSL level 3 or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A flexible approach to meeting the individual needs of each student.
  • A genuine enthusiasm and commitment for working with Deaf young people/adults.
