About the Role

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join our team. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, providing individualized support and guidance to help them thrive in a challenging but rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students with SEMH needs
  • Assist students with daily living tasks and learning activities
  • Build trusting relationships with students and staff
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of 1 year's experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with complex needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
