Position Overview

Morson Technical Services is currently in search of an Aircraft Wildcat Base Maintenance Supervisor to oversee operations at our maintenance facility.

About the Role

The Wildcat Base Maintenance team is responsible for conducting 300-hour zonal maintenance on a fleet of Army and Navy Wildcat Helicopters. This involves a comprehensive 17-week program where teams disassemble, clean, inspect, and repair aircraft to ensure they are ready for deployment. Our skilled engineers operate on a day shift, diagnosing issues and replacing components as necessary, followed by ground running the aircraft to ensure operational readiness.

Main Responsibilities

  • Hold the necessary authorizations as required by WMS, including second signature within your trade group as outlined in OP 1103 and in accordance with your individual Record of Engineering Authorisations (REA).
  • Maintain technical knowledge and authorizations through ongoing training and review of disseminated information.
  • Perform aircraft maintenance as assigned by Controllers, adhering to published Procedures and Instructions.
  • Complete GOLDesp procedures in accordance with Wildcat Maintenance Support WMS OP 408 and JAP(D) 100A series publications.
  • Follow authorized tool control procedures (WMS OP 502) during maintenance work on aircraft and associated tasks.
  • Supervise Technicians and Apprentices.
  • Manage the operation and maintenance of AGE and Hangar facilities as directed.
  • Prepare aircraft for transportation by road or air as needed.
  • Participate in exercise detachments and aircraft recovery operations as required.
  • Conduct independent inspections where authorized in accordance with MAM-P and your individual REA.
  • Perform any other aircraft or support-related tasks as directed by the appropriate Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Completion of an aeronautical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent Service Trade Training.
  • Meet the criteria specified in WMS OP 1103 para 6.2 & Figure 1.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of UK Military Aircraft documentation procedures.
  • Current and proficient in the use of GOLDesp.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting salary of GBP38,454.00, increasing to GBP40,184.43 upon successful completion of the probationary period.
  • Potential banding allowance of GBP1000 per annum for holding additional authorizations.
  • Discretionary bonus based on team KPI achievements, GBP155 quarterly / GBP620 annually.
  • Generous holiday entitlement of 5 weeks (25 days) per year, increasing to 26 days after 5 years of service, plus bank holidays.
