The Portfolio Execution Group (PEG) at GIC plays a crucial role in implementing investment decisions across public markets. Within PEG, the Global Trading Unit (GTU) executes trades globally for various asset classes, including equities, fixed income, currencies, and commodities.

We are seeking a skilled Fixed Income Trader to join our London-based GTU team.

In this role, you will partner closely with GIC's portfolio managers across the globe to execute trades during the London timezone. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Trade Execution: Execute a wide range of fixed income transactions, including cash bonds, credit instruments, emerging market debt, swaps, futures, and options.
  • Market Intelligence: Provide insightful analysis on specific markets and macro themes to GIC's portfolio managers and senior management.
  • Collaboration & Innovation: Work closely with colleagues from the Applied Research Unit (ARU) and Technology Group (TG) to leverage trading data for improved execution strategies and enhance GTU's technology suite.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with GIC's counterparties and liquidity providers.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 4-8 years of experience in trading, with a focus on macro products.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
  • The ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and manage information flow.
  • A willingness to take calculated intra-day and inter-day market risks to achieve optimal execution outcomes.
  • A collaborative spirit and a passion for working within a diverse team.
  • Programming skills in Python would be a significant advantage.
