Job Purpose

  • Engage with one of the designated teams based on your expertise and organizational needs: Project Engineering, Well Completions, Manifold & Interconnect, Drilling & Intervention, or New Product Development.

Job Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supporting project engineering, new product/technology development, product enhancement, standardization, and qualification projects based on your assigned group.
  • Acting as a technical liaison for the designated work package scope and serving as the primary contact for all communications related to this scope.
  • Developing product design, documentation standards, and qualification requirements.
  • Creating, reviewing, and approving part reports, engineering specifications, and standards.
  • Defining product quality, material, welding, and NDE specifications.
  • Managing project schedules and deliverables effectively.
  • Providing management with technical support and progress updates as required.
  • Mentoring and guiding Product Engineers and Designers/Drafters, collaborating to achieve project objectives, and independently reviewing and approving work packages.
  • Offering technical assistance to vendors and fostering strong working relationships.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry codes related to subsea production systems, TechnipFMC standards, and client specifications.
  • Adhering to all relevant work instructions and design guidelines while demonstrating creativity and innovation in problem-solving.
  • Developing unique solutions for complex technical challenges, which may involve designing new products or systems.
  • This role is an individual contributor position, responsible for executing tasks assigned by the manager and collaborating with the designated team.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based, with exposure to potential shop or lab hazards, including high noise levels and heavy equipment when in those areas. Some travel (domestic and international) may be necessary to visit TechnipFMC regional offices and vendor facilities. Must be prepared to travel on short notice if design or supply chain issues arise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of engineering experience in subsea production system engineering (4 years for Master's/PhD candidates).
  • Proven experience in supporting engineering for subsea projects while adhering to safety, quality, delivery, and cost constraints.
  • Experience in reviewing and approving engineering designs, documents, layouts, calculations, and interpreting FEA/structural analysis results.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering disciplines and physical modeling techniques (solid mechanics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer) is essential, along with experience in conducting design analysis.
  • Experience with various ASME, API, NORSOK, and DNV Codes and Standards related to subsea equipment design and manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing processes such as forging, hot and cold extrusion, cladding, HIP, and induction bending.
  • Knowledge of welding codes and practices, including ASME IX and API 1104.
  • Understanding of NDE codes and practices, including UT, PAUT, PT, RT, and MPI per ASME V.
  • Ability to manage engineering projects within specified schedules and budgets, demonstrating strong organizational and project planning skills.
  • Dependability, accuracy, and the ability to prioritize work for oneself and others in a team setting.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a technical team, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.
  • Ability to make independent system recommendations using advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively convey subject matter expertise and mentor others.
  • Competence in designing complex engineering plans and reviewing design work for systems and products.
