Job Overview

Role Objective

The purpose of this position is to enhance revenue generation and advocate for the bank's extensive array of products and services across diverse customer demographics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify prospective clients, assess their requirements and preferences, while remaining informed about evolving market dynamics and competitor activities.
  • Develop comprehensive profiles for targeted customer groups, detailing their demographics, financial behaviors, and challenges to customize sales strategies and product suggestions.
  • Manage relationships with both potential and current clients by delivering exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and building trust while understanding their financial aspirations and obstacles.
  • Comprehend the features, advantages, risks, and compliance obligations associated with various banking products and services. Clearly communicate insights regarding these offerings to meet customer financial needs.
  • Craft persuasive sales presentations and proposals that highlight the bank's value proposition to convert prospects into clients, negotiating mutually beneficial terms.
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback on products, services, and overall experiences to create reports that relay significant findings to relevant stakeholders, aiding in product development and sales strategies.
  • Track lead conversion rates, customer acquisition costs, and other key performance indicators to evaluate sales effectiveness and pinpoint areas for enhancement.

  • Provide guidance to key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management, on areas of functional and cross-functional impact and alignment.
  • Assess and mitigate risks to support the control and governance framework.

  • Collaborate with various departments to stay aligned with business activities and strategies.
  • Develop solutions through advanced analytical thinking, comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis and interpretative reasoning will be essential for problem definition and innovative solution development.
  • Incorporate findings from extensive research into problem-solving methodologies.
  • Establish and maintain trustworthy relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve key business goals, utilizing influencing and negotiation skills to secure favorable outcomes.

Join us as a Senior Software Engineer IAM at Barclays, where you will facilitate the acceleration of a new digital platform capability, modernizing our digital infrastructure to create a leading digital experience focused on customer satisfaction. This pivotal role involves collaboration with engineering and product teams aligned with business objectives, fostering a culture of teamwork and innovation.

Successful candidates will be evaluated on critical skills essential for this role, including extensive experience in full-stack development technologies such as Java, React, API & microservices, PostgreSQL, knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering principles, and familiarity with Ping Identity/ForgeRock products, alongside comprehensive IAM engineering expertise (authentication, authorization, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, user lifecycle management, OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, policy management). Additional relevant skills may include cloud computing (AWS, Azure), experience in DevSecOps, knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible, Terraform), containerization, and understanding of authentication and biometric system design.
