We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Head of Service to lead our Acute Occupational Therapy Service. As a key member of our Therapy Services Directorate, you will be responsible for the operational management of our Occupational Therapy service, working closely with the Occupational Therapy Head of Service.
Main Responsibilities- Operational management of the Occupational Therapy service, including day-to-day management duties and contributing to service development.
- Engagement in clinical duties as an Occupational Therapist, including complex moving and handling, community equipment provision, hospital discharge processes, and related governance.
- Leadership and management of a team, with a focus on helping staff achieve their potential and delivering high-quality patient care.
- Significant experience at Band 7 level within a physical clinical environment.
- Excellent knowledge of systems for governance and risk management, as well as recent NHS and Social Care developments and their impact on service delivery.
- Proven leadership skills, with experience of managing a team and contributing to service development.
- Good project-management skills, with the ability to deliver on service evaluation, development, and audit.
- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
The NHS offers a positive focus on workforce development, with opportunities for leadership skills enhancement through formal and informal training routes.
