Job Summary

The Associate Director, Financial Aid position at Southeast Community College is a key role in ensuring the effective administration of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs. This position is responsible for coordinating and monitoring all Federal Work-Study positions, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations, and administering scholarships. The successful candidate will work closely with the Educational Foundation and other college entities to continually evaluate the scholarship program, identifying opportunities for growth and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and monitor all Federal Work-Study positions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies and regulations.
  • Administer scholarships, including determining eligibility and selecting recipients.
  • Work closely with the Educational Foundation and other college entities to evaluate the scholarship program and identify opportunities for growth and excellence.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure consistency and equity in the awarding of federal work-study programs and applicable scholarships.
  • Provide technical assistance on matters related to financial aid and scholarships.
  • Stay current with federal and state regulations and guidelines pertaining to financial aid and scholarships.
  • Perform other duties related to the primary job functions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Two years of professional experience at a post-secondary level in financial aid, fiscal services, or related areas of student services.
  • Ability to work effectively under stressful situations and maintain a cordial, positive, and professional demeanor.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills, including tact, patience, and courtesy.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong organizational and time management skills. The position involves working with a diverse student population, including those of culturally and ethnically diverse backgrounds and those who are, or have been, incarcerated. The individual must be able to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
