Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Reviews Coordinator to join our team at Brackenberry Ltd. The successful candidate will work closely with a Local Authority in Lewisham to assist with the appointment of a Reviews Coordinator on a 3-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Homelessness Prevention and Resolution: To promote a housing options approach to service delivery, maximizing homelessness prevention and the take-up of effective solutions to meet housing need.
  • Complaints Investigation: To thoroughly investigate complaints from MPs, elected members, and senior managers, and where necessary, carry out interviews and home visits to gather information.
  • Legal Liaison: To liaise closely with the Council's Legal Department to provide instructions, agree decisions, discuss matters of law and interpretation, request counsel's advice, draft statements and affidavits, and attend court where necessary.
  • Data Protection and Freedom of Information: To deal with requests for information under the Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act, and to be aware of the requirements of the legislation and Lewisham practice.
  • Case Management: To input all data, make detailed case notes, and update progress on reviews on all IT systems.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Experience of managing a caseload, undertaking statutory homelessness and reviews of decisions under the Housing Act (amended).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legislation so it is easily understood by a diverse range of customers.
  • Time Management: Experience of prioritizing competing demands in a pressurized environment, recognizing service priorities.
  • Availability: Availability to work immediately or at short notice.
  • Right to Work: Right to work in the U.K.
