National Transfer Scheme Business Support Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Support Officer to join our Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Childrens Service team at Kent County Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the National Transfer Scheme (NTS) in Kent, working closely with the NTS Co-ordinator to ensure the safe and timely transfer of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children from the care of Kent County Council to other local authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the NTS Co-ordinator in the day-to-day functioning of the NTS, ensuring that all requests for support are responded to in a timely and effective manner.
- Work closely with professionals and members of the public to ensure the smooth transfer of children, dealing with highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Utilize excellent IT and problem-solving skills to resolve any issues that may arise during the transfer process.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the effective operation of the NTS.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with professionals and members of the public.
- Strong IT skills, with experience of using a range of software applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple deadlines.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
