Metal Finishing Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Metal Finishing Supervisor to join our team at Dan Willson. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for leading the metal finishing operation and ensuring that all production deadlines are met.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Metal Finishing Team: Supervise a team of 4-6 employees across various functions, including chroming, sandblasting, painting, and other finishing operations.
- Meet Production Deadlines: Collaborate with the production leadership team to ensure that production is efficient and that all parts are finished to suit production requirements.
- Manage Materials and Resources: Order necessary materials to enable production to operate smoothly and ensure that all personnel are correctly trained in their discipline.
- Ensure Quality and Safety: Adhere to quality approvals and ensure that high standards are maintained to deliver a product of the highest standard. Undertake a robust approach towards Health & Safety in the workshop to ensure objectives are maintained.
- Reporting and Communication: Report to the Production Director and provide updates as required. Communicate effectively with the leadership team to ensure that production is efficient.
- Leadership Skills: Proven leadership skills that will enable the individual to supervise a team producing chemically processed high-value precision engineering products in a safety-conscious environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Good level of understanding of inspection methods and equipment, as well as experience of hands-on production in metal chemical finishing.
- Communication Skills: High level of communication skills at all levels, including the ability to analyse problems, identify their root cause, and take measures to solve them.
- Experience in Metal Finishing: Experience of hands-on production in metal chemical finishing, including hard chrome plate, wet paint, and manganese phosphate.
- Quality Control Systems: Full understanding of technical drawings and tolerances, as well as the attendant specifications and data sheets for metal finishing processes.
- Health and Safety: High degree of knowledge of the health and safety at work act, particularly aspects of hazardous chemicals.
