Job Summary:

Eden Brown Synergy is seeking an experienced Desktop Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing technical support to staff and students in the use of all IT throughout the college.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide timely support to staff and students in the use of all IT throughout the college, including technical support, installation, and deployment of hardware and software.
  2. Answer phone calls to the service desk and log jobs in a timely manner.
  3. Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email.
  4. Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
  5. Undertake allocated work without supervision or regular technical support.
  6. Deliver operational systems or small new project developments.
  7. Responsible for planning and managing small size IT projects.
  8. Build effective working relationships with staff at all levels and work collaboratively with a range of people to explore new ways of exploiting the ICT infrastructure to meet business needs.
  9. Resolve problems with, and advising on change requests to the ICT infrastructure.
  10. Recommend and promote the application and continual development of technologies to improve service delivery.
  11. Use the SCCM imaging system to re-image machines and deploy software across the entire estate.

Requirements:

  1. Level 3 qualification in a related discipline, or evidence of substantial professional practice at a similar level.
  2. Evidence of ongoing professional development in the area of work and ability to demonstrate how this has been applied in the workplace.
  3. Service Management qualification, ideally ITIL.
  4. SCCM experience is desirable but not essential.
  5. Technical knowledge suitable to provide effective user support in the field of IT infrastructure.
  6. Demonstrate experience as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email.
