At Human Appeal , we are pleased to announce a rewarding opportunity for a HR Recruitment Associate to become part of our dedicated team. This role is based in the UK and is a full-time position.

Human Appeal is a charitable organization driven by faith, focused on eliminating poverty through humanitarian assistance, sustainable development initiatives, and advocacy for those we serve globally.

As an HR Recruitment Associate, the chosen candidate will be pivotal in supporting the People and Culture Manager (UK and Regional) by managing the screening process for new hires and volunteers. This includes performing comprehensive checks such as Thomson Reuters and media assessments, along with gathering references related to employment, education, and character. The role also involves assisting the P+C Manager (UK) with various recruitment tasks, including crafting Job Profiles, creating and posting job advertisements, shortlisting applicants, and coordinating interviews. The aim is to ensure the efficient operation of the recruitment function within Human Appeal's HR framework, adhering to audit standards while ensuring that candidates are thoroughly vetted to protect the organization and secure the best talent in a timely and cost-effective manner through a fair and unbiased process.

Key Responsibilities of the HR Recruitment Associate:

  • Conduct all necessary pre-employment checks, including Thomson Reuters screening, DBS checks, media assessments, and comprehensive reference checks for volunteers and staff.
  • Support the P+C Manager (UK) in executing the complete recruitment cycle for all UK departments, which includes drafting Job Profiles, posting job advertisements, shortlisting candidates, and scheduling interviews.
  • Administer media checks for new volunteers and staff.
  • Facilitate Thomson Reuters screening for all new personnel.
  • Perform reference checks, including employment, education, and character references.
  • Conduct DBS checks for applicable UK staff.
  • Assist the P+C Manager with daily recruitment tasks across various departments such as Communications, Donor Care, Finance, Fundraising, Operations, People and Culture, Programmes, and Systems.
  • Develop Job Profiles and prepare Authority Recruit Forms for necessary approvals.
  • Write and publish job advertisements.
  • Create Shortlist Criteria Spreadsheets and shortlist candidates effectively.
  • Coordinate interview schedules by liaising with candidates and interview panels.
  • Manage selection tools, including Psychometric Tests and Assessment Centres.
  • Provide feedback post-interview and prepare Candidate Selection Forms for approval.
  • Maintain all relevant recruitment and personnel records in compliance with ISO and Investors in People Audit standards.
  • Collaborate with the P+C Manager to enhance Human Appeal's reputation as an attractive employer.
  • Work with the P+C Manager to improve the candidate experience throughout the application process.
  • Partner with the P+C Manager to gather and analyze recruitment metrics, such as 'time to hire'.
