Role Overview:
As a key leader in our Energy Centre operations, you will oversee daily activities and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Implementing and maintaining safety protocols in alignment with both internal and external regulations.
- Conducting routine testing to meet legal and compliance requirements.
- Supporting compliance activities related to energy systems and boiler operations.
- Contributing to sustainability initiatives, including carbon management and trade effluent compliance.
- Performing safety audits and liaising with contractors for maintenance and inspections.
- Managing repairs and maintenance through our computerized maintenance management system.
- Driving energy efficiency initiatives in collaboration with the Energy Systems Manager.
- Overseeing energy metering devices and reporting data for audits.
Qualifications and Experience:
While formal qualifications are valued, we prioritize practical experience. For this role, the following are essential:
- Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical/Electrical/Energy).
- Experience in asset maintenance and compliance.
- Ability to analyze energy data for informed decision-making.
- Strong ownership and proactive approach to tasks.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Attributes:
- Understanding of health and safety procedures, ideally with IOSH/NEBOSH certification.
- BOAS qualification.
- Experience in boiler house and combined heat and power operations.
- Background in multiple functional areas.
