Job Title: Lead Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer to join our team at Weetabix. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in supporting manufacturing operations, tackling urgent requests from various facilities, and expertly prioritizing resources to reduce service disruptions and meet KPI targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a dynamic shift-based multidisciplinary team, ensuring task coordination, prioritization, and resource allocation
  • Act as line manager for engineers, focusing on development, performance reviews, and disciplinary matters
  • Provide engineering support to production, resolving breakdowns and addressing priority issues
  • Compile shift reports with manufacturing and engineering insights
  • Ensure team adherence to health, safety, and food safety standards
  • Manage permit to work activities for safety and efficiency
  • Offer hands-on support for equipment troubleshooting and guide effective problem-solving
  • Utilize extensive engineering knowledge to instruct others on asset use
  • Advocate for improvements in asset reliability and engineering processes
  • Effectively use CMMS for logging and reviewing maintenance work
  • Facilitate training for operators on basic engineering tasks and mentor engineering apprentices
Requirements:
  • Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering qualification
  • Knowledge of CMMS Systems
  • Knowledge and experience in the field of facilitating improvement processes, with continuous improvement programs such as Lean, TPM and RCA (root cause analysis)
  • Held a Lead role managing a small team
  • Proven capability to educate and train staff members across all levels
  • Alignment to Weetabix values

  • Have the ability to demonstrate how you keep up to date in your field of expertise
