Job Summary

The Shop Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the retail store, including sales, customer service, and team management. This is a temporary, part-time position available in Sudbury.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage sales and revenue growth, meeting targets and increasing profit for the store
  • Recruit, train, and support a team of volunteers to maximize sales and customer satisfaction
  • Communicate and work effectively with other store managers to ensure day-to-day operations are met
  • Manage stock levels, replenishing as needed and liaising with the Regional Manager to request stock top-ups
  • Set up and manage the EPOS system, training volunteers as needed
  • Handle cash and banking procedures, reconciling EPOS and banking records
  • Identify volunteer recruitment needs and develop recruitment campaigns in consultation with the Regional Manager
  • Cover shifts in the absence of volunteers and support the marketing team with local community outreach
  • Manage rotas to ensure the store is operational within agreed opening hours
  • Provide exceptional customer service, protecting the brand and reputation of Cards for Good Causes

Requirements

  • Experience in customer-facing environments, preferably in retail or sales
  • Ability to work under own initiative within an established commercial framework
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Commercial awareness and ability to make decisions to drive revenue
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of people at different levels
  • Understanding of excellent customer service and ability to act as an ambassador for Cards for Good Causes
  • Ability to respond to changing consumer and partner needs to maximize opportunities
  • Collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders built on trust and mutual respect
  • Demonstrated passion for Cards for Good Causes' vision, mission, and values
