Crisis Safe Space Service:

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Specialists to join our Crisis Safe Space team. This service operates seven nights a week, providing a safe haven for individuals experiencing acute emotional distress.

Your Role:

  • Deliver services with warmth and empathy, fostering hope and empowerment for all service users.
  • Build trusting relationships with clients based on collaboration and mutual respect.
  • Utilize a Trauma-Informed and Psychologically Informed approach to guide interventions and support strategies.
  • Employ a range of techniques, including motivational interviewing, brief interventions, and solution-focused approaches, to effectively engage clients.
  • Adhere to Second Step's policies, procedures, values, code of conduct, and current legislation, ensuring a recovery-oriented, psychologically informed, and equitable approach to care.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals facing mental health challenges or complex needs.
  • Proven ability to work with individuals experiencing multiple needs, including mental health concerns, homelessness, substance use disorders, and chronic illnesses.
  • Experience conducting needs assessments, risk assessments, and developing comprehensive support plans.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing a diverse caseload of individuals with competing needs and priorities.
