Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Reading Mentor to support the development of reading skills in KS3-4 students. As a Reading Mentor, you will play a vital role in helping students become independent learners and achieve their personal learning targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students in developing their reading skills, with a focus on KS3-4 curriculum
  • Work closely with students to review and set new targets, and monitor progress towards meeting individual goals
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, adapting to their individual needs
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to reading development

Requirements

  • Experience working with young people aged 11-16
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing student needs and priorities
  • Knowledge of KS3-4 curriculum and reading development strategies
