About the Role

The Head of Commercial Management will lead and be responsible for all commercial aspects of the business, reporting directly to the CEO. This is a key role within Egis in the UK, requiring a strong commercial leader to drive excellence in the provision of visibility, insight, and expertise into supply markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic direction and decision-making through the use of market intelligence and other available resources.
  • Develop and manage positive supplier relationships through open and constructive dialogue.
  • Direct and implement clear sourcing strategies for designated portfolios, driving best practice processes and systems in areas of pre-contract management for projects and programmes.
  • Negotiate high-value, complex contracts to support delivery of business priorities and manage the efficient and effective delivery of those contracts.
  • Provide means of control and compliance through effective policies, procedures, and delegated authority structures.
  • Mitigate potential business risk through contractual, commercial, and claims management support.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders, customers, and suppliers and act as a figurehead for the function, providing visible leadership both within and outside the programme in promoting commercial excellence.
  • Develop and implement programmes and initiatives to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Experience

  • Experience of leading large teams and strong leadership in a complex environment, with senior-level experience of policy and direction setting, strategic sourcing, and supply chain contracts.
  • Strong supplier engagement and development skills to drive effective contract and supplier relationship management.
  • Best practice supply chain management within relevant markets to push benefits delivery (financial and non-financial) within project environments.
  • Proven experience of client management and negotiation.
  • Previous experience working on large MEP projects and within the M&E sector.

Technical Knowledge

  • Knowledge and comprehensive understanding of NEC contracts (all options).
  • Demonstratable knowledge and understanding of construction law and standard forms of contract.
  • Knowledge of engineering and client standards.
  • Knowledge and demonstratable understanding of financial management.
  • Adept knowledge of MS packages, including Excel, Project, and Word.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Professional membership with RICS, CIOB, or equivalent.
  • Hold a valid CSCS card.
  • Full UK driver's license.
