Site Supervisor

Salary: £35,000 - £37,500 Per Annum

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee day-to-day site activities, including tooling, paperwork, site contact, time management, and staffing.
  2. Monitor and report lateness and sick reporting to the project manager, ensuring regular discussions to address engineer issues.
  3. Lead inductions and toolbox talks, accompanying visitors around the site.
  4. Ensure all contractors have permits to work on site.
  5. Facilitate communication between project managers/engineers and planning, ensuring site teams are aware of their workload and providing advice on vehicle allocation, tooling, and equipment.
  6. Provide feedback on site operative efficiencies and health and safety issues, including training requirements.
  7. Lead site-based activities, including client liaison, updating the project manager on daily progress, and informing of site issues.
  8. Act as site leader on allocated projects, responsible for all site-based activities in the project manager's absence.
  9. Collaborate with the project manager on design input, including site surveys and design meetings with the technical department and/or clients.
  10. Provide instruction, guidance, support, and motivation to teams.
  11. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor health and safety procedures and promote a positive behavioral culture.
  12. Report and record accidents/incidents or near misses on company documentation.
  13. Consider environmental impact when making business decisions, including new materials, production processes, equipment, and waste disposal.
  14. Ensure policy standards and working procedures are understood by all employees under control.
  15. Implement measures to ensure safety and environmental protection.
  16. Investigate and report health, safety, environmental, and quality incidents.
  17. Set personal high standards as examples to teams and maintain good knowledge of operating systems.
Financial Responsibilities
  1. Identify areas for improvement and promote best practices across the business.
  2. Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, tools/equipment, and vehicles for maximum efficiency.
  3. Aware of financial objectives to influence project completion within agreed timescales, expecting quality and maximum profitability.
  4. Encourage positive behavioral change in attitudes to business expenditure.
  5. Develop and maintain good internal and external customer relationships.
  6. Attend management meetings to discuss relevant information.
Site Supervisor Qualifications
  1. Specific skill-based qualification to level 3 or above, or 10 years field-based experience in a specific skill-based role.
  2. Additional field-based skill qualifications, such as PASMA or MEWP training.
  3. Crane operations training (Slingers Signaller or Lift supervisor to CPCS standard).
  4. Health & Safety First Aid (3 day) and SMSTS (CITB).
  5. Confined Space Trained.
  6. Level 3 Leadership Training (or working towards).
  7. CSCS Supervisors card.
