About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Leicester, a category B prison located in Leicester.

The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team, carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options for patients with complex mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' health needs using evidence-based frameworks and risk assess using sound clinical knowledge.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, working collaboratively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide high-quality nursing care, including medication management, wound care, and other interventions as needed.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and develop treatment plans.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to mental health care.
Requirements
  • Qualified Mental Health Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Experience of working with patients with complex mental health conditions, including psychosocial interventions and group work.
  • Sound clinical knowledge and assessment skills, including risk assessments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
