Position Overview

As a vital member of the R&D Department at Eviosys, this role is essential within the analytical team of a diverse laboratory environment. The position entails collaboration with project leaders and involvement in various research initiatives, offering expertise in analytical chemistry, guidance, and testing services.

Core Responsibilities

Analytical Chemistry Duties:

  • Employing suitable analytical methodologies to conduct investigations and analyses that support Eviosys's objectives, client needs, packaging test programs, and R&D technical assistance. Responsibilities include performing food analysis, aiding in plant quality assurance, identifying contaminants, and providing regulatory support for food contact materials. Conduct investigations into taint and odor issues and carry out additional analytical assessments using both internal and external resources.
  • Producing precise and dependable data utilizing techniques such as: Gas Chromatography (GC), Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES), Ion Chromatography (IC), High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC).
  • Innovating techniques and enhancing knowledge to tackle chemistry-related challenges.
  • Delivering insightful analysis and prompt reporting of technical findings with clear conclusions and actionable recommendations.

General Responsibilities:

  • Documenting results in formal reports with well-defined conclusions.
  • Managing workload and samples through appropriate IT systems, ensuring complete traceability with clear and accurate documentation and labeling.

Required Skills

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Experience with Ion Chromatography (IC) and Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES).
  • Prior experience in an analytical chemistry or food chemistry laboratory.
  • Proficient laboratory skills, including wet chemistry, volumetric standards, and chemical selection/disposal.
  • Competent computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, including the capacity to present scientific data effectively.
  • Capability to manage workload alongside on-the-job training.
  • Commitment to safety protocols in the workplace.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Self-driven, dependable individual with strong time management capabilities.
  • An autonomous and investigative mindset.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Advanced degree focusing on analytical chemistry or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in a contract laboratory setting.
  • Background in food packaging, food production, or protective metal coatings.
  • Experience mentoring junior laboratory personnel.
  • Proficiency in another European language.
