About the role

Working within our R&D Dept, this post, will be an integral member of the analytical team within a multidisciplinary laboratory, supporting Eviosys’s 
businesses and project leaders. This position involves participation in relevant research and customer-related projects, providing analytical chemistry expertise, advice, and testing.

Key Responsibilites

Analytical Chemistry

Using appropriate analytical techniques, conducting analyses and investigations as appropriate to support Eviosys’s business, customers, pack test program and R&D technical support team. Perform food analysis. Support plant quality control. Identify contaminants and foreign bodies. Provide food contact regulatory support. Conduct taint and odor investigations. Undertake other analytical investigations utilizing either in-house or outsourced resources. Generate accurate and reliable data using techniques such as: Gas Chromatography (GC) Gas Chromatography / Mass Spectroscopy (GC/MS) Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrophotometry (ICP-OES) Ion Chromatography (IC) High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) Develop techniques and expand knowledge to address chemistry-based issues. Provide insightful interpretation and timely reporting of technical data with clear conclusions and recommendations for further actions

General

Report results in formal documents with clear conclusions. Manage workload and samples using appropriate IT systems, ensuring full traceability through clear and accurate documentation and labeling.

Key Skills

Essential

BSc in Chemistry or equivalent Experience of working with IC and ICP-OES  Previous experience of working in an analytical chemistry laboratory or food chemistry lab General Laboratory Skills – wet chemistry, volumetric standards, chemical selection / disposal  Competent computing skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Good written and verbal communication skills (including the ability to present scientific data) Ability to balance workload with on-the-job training Commitment to safe-working requirements Ability to work in a team  Self-motivated, reliable candidate with good time management skills Autonomous and investigative approach

Desirable

Higher degree with analytical chemistry focus or an allied subject Previous experience in a contract laboratory Experience working in food packaging, food production or protective metal coatings Previous experience of mentoring junior lab members Other European language
