Senior Clinical Physicist Lead

NHS Scotland is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Clinical Physicist to take on a senior leadership role in the Department of Radiotherapy Physics. The successful candidate will lead and manage the comprehensive scientific and technical services covering all aspects of treatment delivery, including radiotherapy technical services, clinical radiotherapy systems, and equipment management.

The Department operates a range of advanced radiotherapy systems, including linear accelerators and adaptive radiotherapy systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and continuing the development of these systems, ensuring they are used to deliver high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical physics, with experience in managing teams and leading service development. They will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be based at Gartnavel General Hospital, Glasgow, but will be required to work closely with colleagues at the Beatson satellite centre in Airdrie, Lanarkshire. They will be responsible for ensuring that the Department's services are delivered to the highest standards, and that patients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Department's scientific and technical services
  • Develop and implement strategies for improving patient care and outcomes
  • Manage and develop the Department's radiotherapy systems and equipment
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of services
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
