IT School Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled IT School Technician to provide first- and second-line support to our school users. The ideal candidate will have a valid Enhanced DBS and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Excellent Communication: Communicate effectively with all levels of the business to ensure seamless support.
  • First- and Second-Line Support: Provide timely and efficient support to all users of technology, including setup, deployment, and re-imaging of desktops and hardware.
  • Issue Resolution: Follow up with customers to ensure full resolution of issues and provide regular updates.
  • Network Maintenance: Ensure anti-virus updates and Microsoft Security updates are current on school networks.
  • Technical Advice: Provide technical advice to schools on various IT-related matters, including software installation and licensing.
  • Hardware Maintenance: Perform general maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical housekeeping of networks and peripheral devices.
  • System Diagnostics: Diagnose system errors and other issues to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an up-to-date inventory and asset register of IT equipment.
  • User Account Management: Manage network user accounts, profiles, permissions, and the addition and deletion of users.
  • Teaching Staff Support: Provide support and assistance to teaching staff when using IT equipment.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as required by the purpose and grade of the job.

Requirements: The successful candidate will have a valid Enhanced DBS and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Salary: £32,000
