IT School Technician

Vertex-it-solutions is seeking a skilled IT School Technician to provide first- and second-line support to school users on-site at TW20. The ideal candidate will have a valid Enhanced DBS and a strong understanding of IT systems and hardware.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communication and Support: Provide effective and efficient communication across all levels of the business, ensuring that issues are resolved promptly and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
  • Technical Support: Provide first- and second-line support to all users of technology, including setup, deployment, and re-imaging of desktops and hardware.
  • Issue Resolution: Follow up with customers to ensure full resolution of issues and provide regular updates on progress.
  • Hardware and Software Management: Set up, deploy, and re-image desktops and hardware, ensuring that anti-virus updates and Microsoft Security updates are kept current on school networks.
  • Network Management: Maintain an up-to-date inventory and asset register of IT equipment, manage network user accounts, profiles, and permissions, and ensure that network user accounts are properly configured.
  • Teaching Staff Support: Provide support and assistance to teaching staff when using IT equipment, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively use technology in the classroom.
  • Other Duties: Carry out other duties that are in line with the purpose and grade of the job, including maintaining each school's network, managing daily backups, anti-virus tools, and software licenses.
