About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Editor to join our team at Park Village. As an Editor, you will be responsible for collaborating with directors, producers, and EPs to deliver high-quality work that exceeds client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Offline and online editing of commercial projects, documentaries, showreels, and marketing content.
  • Rushes footage management, storage, and server management.
  • Edit selects, sound syncing, project setup, and build of initial timeline.
  • Participate in the creative process and offer your own ideas and creative solutions.
  • Support senior and freelance editors with technical requests and in-house processes.
  • Backup, transcode, file, and manage rushes, accurately archive all projects and raw footage.
  • Potential to act as DIT in the studio or on set, and as editor on location shoots.
  • Work with EPs to ensure effective operations of the post setup.
  • Liaise with external technical support and post-production suppliers.
  • Oversee output of freelance editors to assist in delivery.
  • Archive delivered projects to Vimeo and server.
  • Source and research archive and existing footage to implement into edits.
  • Source music tracks from music libraries for edits.
  • Edit and deliver creative showreels to promote PV and our directors.
  • Upload WIP edits and file transfers for feedback and amendments.
  • Assist in-housekeeping and management of all footage and project files on Cloud/onsite Server.
  • Media manage and conform for grade.
  • Export for post facilities (OMFs, AIFs, DPX, TIFFs, Q'times, MP4, XMLs, EDLs).
  • Technical maintenance of hard drives, hardware, software licenses, and updates.
  • Work with Producers/directors to ensure post timelines stay on schedule.
  • Liaise with the studio team on upkeep of edit suite and ensuring all visiting Directors, Editors, and clients are looked after.
  • Engage with the staff and culture of PV as a valued member of the team.
Requirements
  • Extensive showreel of editing, including both creative offline and technical finishing.
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end editing and post-production workflow.
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe post-production software, and linear editing software (Premiere, FCP, AVID).
  • Basic knowledge of design packages such as Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Basic knowledge of audio, VO recording, and sound design.
  • Experience with a variety of post software such as DaVinci Resolve, REDcine, Quicktime, etc.
  • Good understanding of Codecs, compression, export, and delivery processes.
  • Good understanding of offline/online workflows.
  • Good understanding of online video platforms, file delivery, and upload/download processes.
  • Experience with HD camera workflows – including ingest, transcode, and conform.
  • Understanding of cloud/onsite servers and general media storage.
  • Some experience delivering projects for online, film, and television.
  • Good communication skills, to be comfortable liaising with editors, producers, and EPs.
  • Confident self-starter, proactive, systematic, and efficient team player.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills, proven ability to prioritize a challenging workload effectively and work to tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to expand knowledge of editing software, hardware, post-production processes, and protocols.
  • Experience in a similar role in a digital media/post-production environment.
