Experience as a Care Assistant, Support Worker, or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory. We provide a comprehensive training and induction program for all team members.
As a Support Worker with Leonard Cheshire, you will join a remarkable team. Each day presents unique challenges and responsibilities, including:
- Assisting with daily living tasks such as personal hygiene, medication management, and meal support.
- Accompanying individuals within the service and to external events and appointments.
- Fostering a Person-Centered approach that promotes independence and helps individuals achieve their personal goals.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
To excel in this position, you should possess:
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities.
- The flexibility to work creatively with clients and their families.
- Ideally, some experience in personal care (though not essential).
- The capability to perform under pressure and collaborate as part of a team.
- Willingness to work within scheduled hours and participate in an on-call rota as necessary.

Enhanced pay rates apply for night shifts and weekends:
A night enhancement of £1.50 per hour will be applicable from 8 PM to 7 AM, Monday to Sunday (excluding sleep-ins). A weekend enhancement of £2.00 per hour will be provided from 7 AM to 8 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
