Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at THE PIG Hotels (Home Grown Hotels). As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for supporting our Head Chef in the management of our kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the kitchen team to ensure seamless service delivery and high-quality food production.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with suppliers to ensure the highest quality ingredients and optimal food costs.
  • Collaborate with our Kitchen Gardeners to utilize our kitchen garden produce and reduce food waste.
  • Develop and implement kitchen team rotas to ensure efficient staffing and minimize labor costs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food handling, and dietary requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to kitchen team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Take an active role in leading, teaching, and inspiring our kitchen apprentices.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a similar establishment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to motivate and inspire the kitchen team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, food handling, and dietary requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
