The Role of Senior Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Sous Chef to join our team at THE PIG in the Cotswolds. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for supporting our Head Chef in the management of the kitchen and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Head Chef in the overall running of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with suppliers to ensure the highest quality ingredients are sourced.
  • Support the Head Chef in managing food costs and budgeting to ensure the kitchen operates efficiently.
  • Work closely with our Kitchen Gardeners to utilize our kitchen garden produce and create innovative dishes.
  • Plan and manage kitchen team rotas to ensure seamless service.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food handling, and dietary requirements.
  • Develop and support the skills of the kitchen team, including our apprentices.
Requirements:

We are looking for a Senior Sous Chef with experience in a similar establishment, who is passionate about delivering exceptional food and service. You will be a natural leader, with strong people skills and the ability to motivate and inspire your team.
