Senior Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Sous Chef to join our team at THE PIG in the Cotswolds. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for supporting our Head Chef in the management of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Head Chef in the overall running of the kitchen, including menu planning, food costing, and inventory management.
- Maintain excellent relationships with suppliers to ensure the highest quality ingredients are sourced.
- Support the Head Chef in managing food costs and budgeting, ensuring the kitchen operates within budget.
- Work closely with our Kitchen Gardeners to utilize our kitchen garden produce, reducing food waste and increasing sustainability.
- Plan and manage kitchen team rotas, ensuring adequate staffing levels at all times.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food handling, and dietary requirements.
- Develop and support the skills of the kitchen team, encouraging a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Take an active role in leading, teaching, and inspiring our kitchen apprentices, helping them to develop their skills and knowledge.
We are looking for a Senior Sous Chef with experience in a similar establishment, who is passionate about delivering exceptional food quality and service. You will be a natural leader, with strong people skills and the ability to motivate and inspire your team.
