This role involves managing significant planning applications.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement

  • Collaborate effectively with team members in the Contact Centre and various departments to ensure high-quality customer service, enhancing community satisfaction and the Council's reputation.
  • Assist senior management in addressing public inquiries, complaints from resident groups, the Local Government Ombudsman, and Councillors related to the post holder's casework.

Planning Oversight

  • Evaluate submissions for planning permissions, listed building consents, and advertisement displays.
  • Conduct necessary consultations, site evaluations, proposal assessments, and negotiations with applicants and objectors regarding planning matters.
  • Draft comprehensive reports on planning submissions and related matters.
  • Investigate complaints regarding potential planning violations.
  • Prepare documentation for Written Representation Appeals (Planning and Enforcement) and support or lead the preparation and presentation of evidence at Public Inquiries and Hearings.
