Our client's diverse projects span from residential developments to revitalizing commercial spaces, and they are seeking a dedicated Senior Town Planner to drive these initiatives forward.

Your Role

As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the planning, development, and regeneration projects across Derby. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team of dedicated planners and supporting their growth and professional development.
  • Collaborating with local authorities and stakeholders to ensure projects align with strategic development goals and objectives.
  • Preparing and submitting planning applications, while liaising with regulatory bodies and ensuring compliance with local planning policies and regulations.
  • Evaluating and recommending solutions for complex planning and zoning challenges, leveraging expertise in urban planning and development.
  • Continuously researching and staying updated on local, regional, and national planning regulations and best practices, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of urban development.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Urban Planning or a related field.
  • Proven experience in town planning, with a track record of successful projects and a strong understanding of local planning policies and regulations.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Membership in a recognized professional body, such as the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
