About the Role

The British Council is seeking a highly skilled Financial Management Officer to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial sustainability of our Chevening & Marshall Scholarship programmes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the finance team to provide financial support and guidance to the Chevening & Marshall Scholarship programmes.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to ensure accurate budgeting and financial planning.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making.
  • Manage and control budgets, ensuring that financial resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure that financial processes and procedures are followed.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring that the programmes are financially sustainable.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including programme teams, finance teams, and external partners.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of qualified experience in a relevant managerial post.
  • Commercial finance experience gained in an organisation undergoing change and driving for growth.
  • Finance degree level education or equivalent experience.
  • CCAB qualified or part qualified accountant or other finance degree with proven experience of successfully managing and delivering similar roles.
