Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Urology Nurse Specialist to lead our team in providing exceptional care to patients with spinal cord injuries and urological conditions. As a Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for delivering specialized urology services, collaborating with Consultant Urologists and other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive urology services, ensuring seamless care pathways for patients.
  • Provide clinical nursing advice, education, and leadership to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Manage a follow-up caseload in nurse-led urology outpatient clinics, ensuring effective communication with patients, GPs, and community nurses.
  • Assess care needs and develop, evaluate, and set standards for care programmes, promoting evidence-based practice.
  • Ensure continuity of care between hospital and community services, empowering patients and carers through holistic assessment, education, and counseling.
  • Develop and maintain nurse-led specialty clinics, including ordering investigations and referrals, adhering to infection control policies and safe drug administration.
  • Deliver patient education and in-house training for the multi-disciplinary team, promoting professional development and best practices.

Requirements
  • RGN Level one
  • NMC registered
  • Completed national PEAP programme for practice supervisors or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification
  • Masters or evidence of working towards one, demonstrating graduate attributes
  • Independent Nurse Prescriber or willingness to undertake this study
