We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Springfield Veterinary Group. As a key member of our nursing team, you will be responsible for leading and developing a branch within our group, working closely with our head nurse at our Crystal Peaks site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health and Safety: Conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly checks, annual risk assessments, and COSHH reviews.
- Fire Warden duties, including tests and drills.
- Organize services and PAT testing.
- Stock care: Manage stock control, ordering, and stock changes based on drug availability, conduct CD audits, and oversee stock take management.
- Staff care: Create rotas, manage holidays, conduct one-to-ones, check-ins, and appraisals. Line manage 4 VNs, monitor training, and ensure students receive time with their clinical supervisors.
- Building care: Collaborate with our caretaker to maintain a safe and standard environment that allows the team to provide excellent patient care.
- Clinical care: Improve clinical standards, support team changes, conduct clinical audits, cleaning audits, and arrange lunch and learns.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to lead and develop a branch within our group. You will work in collaboration with our head nurse at our Crystal Peaks site, contributing to the growth and success of our team.
Requirements:
We are looking for an excellent communicator, a team player, self-motivated individual with a positive attitude, and confident in all areas of general small animal nursing.
Working Environment:
Our practice has 3 generously sized consult rooms, cat and dog waiting rooms, cat and dog kennels, digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab, separate theatre prep and theatre suite, and a dedicated recently refurbished dental room.
