We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Metering team at Utility People. As the Head of Metering and Operations, you will oversee the delivery of our metering function, ensuring seamless execution and compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Metering team, driving excellence in BAU Metering and Smart Metering.
  • Refine first-time right billing performance by optimizing the meters-to-cash cycle and supporting debt prevention initiatives.
  • Ensure processes are fully compliant with industry regulations, maintaining a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Support the debt team in legal disputes by providing accurate metering information.
  • Oversee and assess the performance of the smart metering infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Maintain service levels and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, fostering strong relationships with customers.
  • Support the field team in metering and debt-related queries, driving successful outcomes.
  • Set and monitor policies for onboarding meters, optimizing debt prevention and enhancement.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within metering management, with a strong track record of success.
  • Excellent knowledge of B2B metering, including smart metering, and a deep understanding of the energy/ utilities industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of the energy/ utilities industry in a gas and power supply business in a B2B setting.
  • Data-driven approach, using statistics to inform decision-making and drive business outcomes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of leading and managing operational teams, with a focus on achieving objectives.
  • Experience in developing and implementing operational strategies to match business forecasts.
  • Commercial mindset with a can-do attitude, driving business growth and success.
  • Good customer account management and business development acumen, with a focus on building strong relationships.

Working Arrangements:

As a key member of our team, you will be based in Nottingham, working 4 days in the office and 1 day from home per week.

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of up to £80k DOE, plus bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.
