About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as the Head of Metering and Operations at Utility People Ltd.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of 30, including 5 direct reports, to manage the metering function and ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Refine first-time right billing performance by improving and efficiently driving the meters to cash cycle, while supporting debt prevention.
  • Ensure processes are fully compliant with industry regulations and standards.
  • Support the debt team in legal disputes by providing accurate metering information.
  • Oversee and assess the performance of the smart metering infrastructure.
  • Maintain service levels and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Support the field team in metering and debt-related queries to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Set and monitor policies for onboarding meters to manage debt prevention and enhance optimization.
Requirements
  • Experience in a similar role within metering management, preferably in the energy or utilities industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of B2B metering, including smart metering, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of leading and managing operational teams to achieve objectives.
  • Experience in developing and implementing operational strategies to match business forecasts.
  • Commercial mindset with a can-do attitude and good customer account management and business development acumen.
