Contract: Permanent, 35 or 38 hours per week, including backshift*. Overtime available.
Salary: £13.25 per hour, £16 per hour for drivers with a D Licence
Job Overview:
We are seeking experienced professionals to join our team at Crooton Ltd as Prisoner Custody Officers in Edinburgh. This role is a vital part of the criminal justice system, where you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and secure transportation and custody of prisoners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport prisoners to and from court, police stations, and other locations in a safe and secure manner.
- Ensure the accurate and efficient processing of prisoners, including booking, searching, and storing of personal belongings.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including incident reports and prisoner movement logs.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, courts, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth prisoner transfers and custody.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices and procedures.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Valid driver's license (for drivers with a D Licence).
